Welcome to Eric Klein Rehabilitation.
I am a facial therapy specialist with a background in speech-language pathology. I was trained in facial neuromuscular re-education by Jackie Diels, the pioneer of this field. I started Eric Klein Rehabilitation to bring specialized therapy with the best evidence-based techniques to people with facial palsy - conveniently through online/remote therapy.
Whether you're dealing with brand new facial paralysis, long-standing tightness with unwanted movements (synkinesis), working through new facial expressions after a surgery, or if you're a professional looking for resources or to refer/collaborate, I am here to help you.
Whether you are here in Utah or across the globe, welcome. And most importantly, please reach out! I look forward to connecting with you.

You were likely told it would just get better with time. But the weeks, months, or years of waiting can feel confusing, isolated, and frustrating. Perhaps you've tried a physical therapist who didn't specialize in facial paralysis, or maybe you've followed misleading advice you found on social media. You've been doing exercises that feel wrong, or using tools that don't help, and you're left wondering if you're even healing correctly.
I understand. Treating Bell's palsy and other facial nerve disorders are not part of most therapists' training. However this is my specialty. My goal is to make sure you know you've finally found the specialist who understands what you're going through. I'll provide clear evidence-based recommendations specific to your face and your recovery. And we will work together to develop a plan that works with your face, so you can stop worrying and start healing.
Finding a qualified facial therapy specialist shouldn't be a challenging task, but often it is. Facial palsy is more common than you might think, yet specialized therapists are rare. I was drawn to this niche because I saw a profound need for knowledgeable and empathetic care, and I have found it to be truly rewarding work. I am here to empower you with the knowledge you need to regain facial balance and find relief on your recovery journey.
1. A Personalized Evaluation. Every face is different, and every recovery journey is unique. We'll begin with a comprehensive evaluation to understand exactly what muscle groups are working well and what's getting in the way. From there, we'll create a targeted plan that is specific to your personal goals and needs.
2. Empowerment Through Education The most powerful tool in your recovery is your comprehension of what's happening in your face and why. We'll discuss the anatomy of the facial nerve, types of injuries, and how it recovers, and give you the knowledge you need to understand and describe your movement patterns. In this journey, knowledge truly is power, and this is essential to overcoming the barriers from your facial palsy.
3. Retraining Your Face Whether your goal is to regain movement, address a tight or overactive face, or simply find relief from painful knots, we will find the strategies just for you. We'll use targeted massage and manual techniques, along with teaching you to harness the power of neuroplasticity, helping you retrain your brain to create the precise and coordinated movements you've been looking for.
